About a year ago Kaycee and I decided to offer our wedding clients Avant Garde photo shoots.  This is a session that allows the bride and groom to get back into their wedding outfits and have some fun.  We usually have a theme thought out that compliments the personalities of the couple.  This is a session that we have been told by many clients that really allows the couple to get romantic, creative and have a blast while doing so without the pressure of the wedding day jitters. 
Here is a few from  Erica and J's session.  We had such an amazing time photographing their wedding at Erica's parents ranch house in Colorado that we decided to go back a few days after the wedding and take advantage of the over 300 acres that we never got to see on wedding day.  This property was so beautiful and a photographer's dream where everywhere you turned was another moment that we were so excited to photograph.  Thank you Erica and J for being so incredible and we hope you love the images as much as we did taking them.

Wow, wedding season is in full storm and even though this beautiful couple have already seen all of their images I had to put a blog post up of this truly unique wedding.  Erica and J got married on Erica's family's ranch in beautiful Montrose, Colorado.  The ceremony and reception was so intimate only a small group of family and friends attended.  The wedding day theme was " country picnic" complete with blankets for guests to sit and relax on and personal umbrellas to block the sun.  Erica and her Mom planned this wedding in just four months and their attention to every little detail seriously made me grin from ear to ear.  Thank you Erica and J for the honor of capturing your sweet day.  May your lives be filled with joy.

You might remember Kim and Heb from our engagement session post a few months ago.  We absolutely love our New Yorkers from Texas who decided to get married in Colorado.  Is everyone keeping up? :)  I have to admit traveling from Texas to photograph their wedding in Colorado and walking into the grooms getting ready room to be pleasantly surprised by a room full of Texas boys in Tuxedos was the best part of my day.  Kim and Heb have such a love and connection with Colorado and spend many winters and summers there so naturally it was the best place to hold their destination wedding a few weeks ago.  It is monsoon season right now in Telluride, Colorado and it was touch and go on if the weather would hold out to have the ceremony on top of the most beautiful mountain with the most beautiful view of the town of Telluride.  Well the day went off smooth and we seemed to dodge the worst of the weather to get such a variety of images.  Kaycee and I are truly blessed to have been a part of Kim and Heb's wedding day and we wish them so much love and joy in the years to come.

Amy and Coulter had an amazing wedding in beautiful Orcas Island, WA.  The weather held out only giving us a few sprinkles of rain and a beautiful part in the clouds for a gorgeous sunset.  I love this amazing island and how beautiful the surroundings are.  Kaycee and I had such a great time with both Amy and Coulter's friends and family over the weekend. Here is a sneak peak at some of the day.  We wish Amy and Coulter many years of bliss.

Danielle and Kris decided to have their engagement session in downtown Bellevue, WA.  We had such a great time walking around and finding interesting places to stop and photograph.  Danielle and Kris were so animated and we loved photographing them and capturing their hilarious personalities and sweet, sweet love.  We are so excited for their wedding at the end of this month.
