Audrey has the most beautiful story of why she chose to do self portraits. Audrey is in the United States Army and studying to be a therapist for soldiers with post traumatic stress disorder. To deal with her busy schedule and hours of work dedicated to her passion of therapy she took up yoga and working with a wonderful personal trainer as a way to calm herself from everyday stresses and getting her body in amazing shape. While doing her clinical rounds in a hospice hospital she noticed that all of her patients had decorated their rooms with pictures of themselves from their youth. Audrey chose to do a self portrait session that showcased all of the months of training and hard work so that one day many, many years from now she can look back and say "wow" with a huge smile. Audrey gave me full creative control and I wanted to incorporate a zen look and a contrasting more urban look to her session and here are the results. By the way the very cool pool where we started out at is at Audrey's amazing apartment complex and I think it was a very fun background for her portraits.

Kimberly and Heb Engagement session

So when Kaycee and I were in New York city for our wedding earlier this month, we killed two birds with one stone by being able to photograph Kimberly and Heb's engagement session. Kimberly and Heb live and work in New York and are getting married this summer in Telluride, Colorado. We had so much fun walking around the parts of the neighborhood where they live and seeing some really fun parts of the city that they just love. These two are fellow Texans so it was pretty fun to say Y'all and feel normal. We are looking forward to their beautiful mountain wedding this summer and there will be more to come.

Cassie and Joe get married

So this past Saturday Kaycee and I had the honor to photograph Cassie and Joe's wedding at Central Park in New York city. It was a weekend full of festivities and plenty of great weather and fabulous food. Thank you to the Corrigan's and the Drymala's for such a great time. We have met a lot of couples and I have to say that Cassie and Joe are just one of those couples that really make you believe in love and how waiting for the right person is so worth it. Thank you Cassie and Joe for being such a wonderful example of how sweet love really is.

Kids are so funny!

I have to say that photographing children is probably my favorite thing to do. I love putting on my wide angle lens, getting really close to my subject and just clicking away as the "ham" in any kid unfolds. I am pretty lucky to have a lot of kids in my extended family and this gathering I realized I have not photographed all the kids before. I took the opportunity at Jacob's fourth birthday celebration to finally photograph some really amazing little ones and I am happy to share. Believe it or not, this is not even half of the kids in my family. You should see Christmas time (pure craziness).

Austin hipster brunch

So this weekend I got together with some friends in Austin, TX for a very fun brunch. There was lots of incredible food, ( I will post Jaclyn's famous arugula bread dish as soon as I get it from her) lots of mimosas and plenty of funny stories. I love Austin so much, and it is so nice to be able to work and take a break through all of the busyness. I wouldn't be surprised if I am there more often for any old reason. Here are some images I took while enjoying my day at Jaclyn and Rodney's Austin paradise.
